چکیده

Background: Cranioplasty (CP) is a neurosurgical procedure performed after decompressive craniectomy using autologous bone graft or various artificial materials. Aim: To find differences in complications between patients who underwent CP an flap versus titanium mesh as well to identify significant risk factors for post-CP Study Design: Comparative cross-sectional study. Methodology: A total of 46 were included this study, out which 37 males (80.4%) and 9 females (19.6%). All cranioplasty graft. Results: Comparison outcome implant was done. In 45.7% patients, used while 54.7%. 23.9% had developed different types both groups, 81.9% from group 18.1% belonged group. Surgical site infection noted (equally) groups. Craniopalsty 45.4% Hematoma encountered 2 patients; with none cranioplasty. Removal done one patient whileremoval not the other arm Bone resorption seen five all Learning curve that technique be followed by neurosurgeons better outcome. Practical implicatio Titanium junior learning good outcome, decrease duration hospital stay preservation precious resources hospital. Conclusion: superior grafting it has lessercomplications. Keywords: Autologous graft, resorption, cranioplasty, hematoma, infection, mesh.

The Influence of Host Bone Substrate in Titanium Mesh Cranioplasty

Reconstructive surgery of bone defects in the calvarium makes use of a multitude of biological and artificial materials. Due to the increased number of such medical casuistry in the recent years, a special attention was dedicated to the biocompatibility and osteointegrative properties of various types of biomaterials. Titanium emerged to be a promising cranioplasty material due to its excellent...

Titanium cranioplasty.

The technique of repairing defects of the skull with titanium is described. The skull contour can be accurately reproduced. The technique is simpler than wiring or suturing methods. The material is inert, radiolucent, and rigid.

Restoring the failed cranioplasty: nonanatomical titanium mesh with perforator flap.

The calvaria is covered by a thin, well-vascularized soft-tissue envelope, providing a rich environment for a variety of local and regional flaps.1 Composite cranial vault restoration aims to protect the brain and restore cranial form. Primary reconstructions result in good outcomes, provided there is adequate quality and quantity of soft tissue. The complexity also increases with the size and ...

Bone Resorption of Autologous Cranioplasty Following Decompressive Craniectomy in Children

Objective: In pediatric patients, autologous-bone assisted cranioplasty is preferred because the child’s original skull material will become reintegrated. Unfortunately, the replaced bone flap sometimes undergoes bone resorption, which results in structural breakdown necessitating reoperation. We report two children who underwent failure of autologous cranioplsty following decompressive craniec...

mandibular reconstruction using custom-made titanium mesh tray and autogenous bone graft: a case report

conclusions using 3d ct scan to produce a prototype and reconstruct the mandible with a custom-made ti-mesh tray was useful. patient was followed up for 14 months. mandibular deviation was largely corrected. there was no complication in the donor site. no sign of extra or intra oral fistula, dehiscence or infection was detected. ti-mesh technique has three major advantages over other methods: i...
